Earth Day: Taishin Bank Supports Environmental Sustainability, Converts Digital Statements, and Helps Energy Disadvantaged Families
April 22 is Earth Day and Taishin Bank encouraged people to support the initiative for environmental sustainability. Cres Huang, Senior Vice President of Taishin Bank’s Payment Service Division stated that the Bank has worked with DOMI Earth, Taiwan’s first B Corporation, for four consecutive years to support energy-deprived households and help them overcome the difficulties of living their lives in the dark. Taishin Bank also invited many partners that support the environment to jointly organize the “Earth Support Group for Carbon Emissions Reduction.” The campaign instills the concept of environmental sustainability into the daily shopping activities of the people by providing discounts for experiencing new services. Taishin Bank’s credit cardholders can have a free ride on the GoShare app by converting printed credit card statements to digital statements in the period from April 20 to June 30.
Cres Huang explained that Taishin Bank’s partnership with DOMI Earth is now in its fourth year. The partnership aims to use the expenses saved by converting cardholders’ printed statements to digital statements for the “Power to Change Project” to support energy-deprived households in the replacement of energy-efficient lighting equipment. As of today, nearly 1 million cardholders have applied for the conversion and more than 350 energy-deprived households have benefited from the campaign. The electric bills saved by installing energy-efficient lighting equipment equal nearly one month of expenses for each household. Cres Huang also encouraged people to use credit cards to pay for water, electricity, gas, and telecommunications fees. By integrating credit card payment and using digital statements, users can conveniently verify payments online and complete payments with their mobile phones by displaying the payment barcode.
Taishin Bank invited partners that support the environment to join the campaign and clients can have a free ride on the GoShare app by converting printed statements to digital statements during the campaign. Cardholders enjoy up to a 6% rebate when they use the FlyGo credit card to pay for shared scooters on GoShare, WeMo, and iRent. Taishin credit cardholders also enjoy free dishes by presenting their digital statements and using the credit cards for payments exceeding a specified amount in Wowprime Group’s restaurants such as Veggtable and Su/food. Cotton Field Organic, a company that focuses on retailing organic products from local sources, provides NT$100 discounts for online shopping and free gifts at physical stores. Eco Goodies, another online shopping mall that supports sustainability, offers a 10% discount when customers pay with Taishin credit cards and enter a promo code. Cres Huang reminded people of the chance to win a Gogoro VIVA MIX (Basic White) electric scooter when they make payments exceeding a specified amount during the event.
Taishin Bank spares no effort in supporting environmental sustainability. In addition to encouraging people to switch to digital statements and improving home lighting by installing energy-efficient lighting equipment for energy-deprived households, the Bank also leverages its corporate influence by inviting shared scooter companies and stores to provide offers that exemplify the commitment to corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
